“Year of the Woman” Screening with Q&A
Wednesday, March 10 - 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ross

Sandra Hochman is a Yale Younger Poet and author of thirty books, two of which were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. She was ranked one of the five most important women writers in America by Esquire Magazine, and was voted one of the hundred outstanding women in America by Harper’s Bazaar. She is a poet, novelist, playwright and filmmaker. Admission to the film is at regular Ross prices, admission to the discussion is free.

The Clawfoot Salon is a monthly gathering of female musicians and artists. Each salon includes time to share knowledge, receive feedback on new work, and jam. This special edition is in the Nebraska Union instead of the usual site, Clawfoot House, and includes special guests musician Amy Denio and poet Sandra Hochman.

Program: Featured speaker Sandra Hochman, poet and creator of the documentary “Year of the Woman.” The film is a historical snapshot of the first National Women’s Political Caucus at the 1972 Democratic Convention. Hochman will discuss the making of the film and her perceptions of women’s political progress.
