Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival: CULTURES IN CROSSFADE

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6 – 7:00 P.M.

The Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival and The Ross present a free screening of the documentary CULTURES IN CROSSFADE, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Josh Kun. After the screening and Q&A, there will live music across the street at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.

The 20-minute documentary CULTURES IN CROSSFADE tells the story of the international musicians who found a home and new life paths in Nebraska.

Josh Kun is an American author, academic and music critic. Kun is Professor of Communication and Journalism and chair in Cross-Cultural Communication in the Annenberg School at the University of Southern California. He also holds a joint appointment at USC’s Department of American Studies and Ethnicity. He is the director of USC Annenberg’s School of Communication, director of the Popular Music Project at USC Annenberg’s the Norman Lear Center and co-editor of the book series Refiguring American Music for Duke University Press.

The Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival’s 5th season, running from August 4-11, 2024 in Lincoln and Omaha with all events free and open to the public. The primary performances will take place at the Performance Pavilion at Gene Leahy Mall in Omaha on August 9 and at Antelope Park in Lincoln on August 10 and feature four acts spanning genres from folk rock to hip-hop to jazz. The week will also include numerous other events in both Omaha and Lincoln including contemporary classical music concerts, jam sessions, film screenings, workshops both indoor and outdoor concerts.
