Director/producer Cathy Lohmeier will join the audience for a Q&A following the 7:00 p.m. screening of REMEMBER THE DRUMSTICK on Friday, November 4.
REMEMBER THE DRUMSTICK
The documentary REMEMBER THE DRUMSTICK explores the rise and fall of a family owned fried chicken restaurant in Lincoln, NE turned rock and roll club in the 1980s, and the young enigmatic man, Tim Lohmeier, who made it the unforgettable legend of its time. Some of the most iconic bands of that decade played there. Bands like, R.E.M, Joan Jett, Red Hot Chili Peppers, X, 10,000 Maniacs.
CATHERINE (Cathy) LOHMEIER, Director/producer
Cathy is the seventh of eight children of the Lohmeier Family and close sibling of Tim Lohmeier who was sixth. She was part of the very early days of the Drumstick transformation. She has B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a M.Ed degree in Special Education both from the University of Nebraska. She spent 20 years in the Information Technology field as a Marketing Representative and Information Analyst before returning to teaching. Along with her husband John Doona, she has formed the non-profit Tim Lohmeier and Friends of the Drumstick Foundation whose mission is to help raise funds to complete the project as well as continue making live music available, affordable and real for audiences of all ages. The Foundation will be the beneficiary of any proceeds coming from the success of the documentary. She is dedicated full time to producing and directing REMEMBER THE DRUMSTICK which is her first full length documentary. She has partnered with the Nebraska Independent Film Project as production consultant on the project.
