Join us for a special $5 screening of ALL DIRT ROADS TASTE OF SALT on Thursday, February 8 at 7pm followed by a talk with Dr. Jeannette Eileen Jones and Caliyah Forte. Presented by Delta Sigma Theta sorority and The Ross.Â
DR. JEANNETTE EILEEN JONESÂ
Dr. Jeannette Eileen Jones is the Carl A. Happold Associate Professor of History and Ethnic Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is a historian of the United States, with expertise in American cultural and intellectual history, African American Studies, Pre-colonial African history, America and the World, and digital humanities. Dr. Jones was initiated into the Lincoln Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in spring 2009. She has held several elected offices in the chapter, including President. Currently, she is Chapter Treasurer, Secondary Advisor of the Omicron Chapter here at UNL, and a commissioner on her sorority’s national Social Action Commission.
CALIYAH FORTE
Caliyah Forte was born and raised in North Omaha. She is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Ethnic Studies. After graduating, she plans to pursue a master’s degree and work in public relations. She was initiated into the Omicron Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in Fall 2023. She is currently serving as the Corresponding Secretary and Technology Chair.
