The Norman A Geske Cinema Showcase presents Academy Award-winning editor Chris Innis, who will be at The Ross on Thursday, October 28 for a Q+A with the audience
following a screening of The Hurt Locker.


On Thursday, October 28, join us for a screening of The Hurt Locker followed by an audience Q+A with Chris Innis. Innis, with her husband and co-editor Bob Murawski, won the 2010 Academy Award for their work editing the film.

Chris will join actress Lynn Lowry for a second Q+A on Friday, October 29, following a double feature of The Evil Dead and I Drink Your BloodMore info here. 

THE HURT LOCKER (2008)

Staff Sgt. William James (Jeremy Renner), Sgt. J.T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty) are members of a bomb-disposal unit in Baghdad. As their tour of duty enters its final weeks, the men face a set of increasingly hazardous situations, any of which could end their lives in an explosive instant.

CHRIS INNIS

Chris Innis, ACE, is the Academy-Award® winning film editor of the critically-acclaimed thriller, The Hurt Locker. She graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a B.A. in film studies, and earned an M.F.A. in live-action filmmaking from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), the creative arts school founded by Walt Disney. Innis is also a producer for cult film distributor(s) Grindhouse Releasing / Box Office Spectaculars with her co-producer/husband, Bob Murawski. She co-produced the digital restoration (and first-time release in the U.S. on Blu-Ray/DVD) of the 1966 spaghetti western, The Big Gundown, starring Lee Van Cleef (of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), written by long-time Sergio Leone collaborator, Sergio Donati and directed by Sergio Sollima, as well as the re-release and digital restoration of the 1968 cult film, The Swimmer, screenplay by Eleanor Perry and directed by Frank Perry, starring Burt Lancaster, which won an International Press Academy Satellite Award for Innis and Murawski.
