Join us for a special movie talk and discussion with director Shannon Kring, Yvonne “Pat” Charbonneau (featured in the film), and Pat’s son Brad Thompson, following the 3:30pm screening of NINE LITTLE INDIANS on Sunday, August 2. Presented with support from Friends of The Ross and the Norman A. Geske Cinema Showcase.

YVONNE “PAT” CHARBONNEAU
My name is Yvonne “Pat” Charbonneau. I was born in Olga, North Dakota to Ovila Charbonneau and Marion Dauphanais. My father was French; my mother was native American…an Indian. French and Metis were spoken in my home. I am a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians from Belcourt, North Dakota.
I attended first and second grade in Olga. I attended St. Paul’s Indian Mission School in Marty, South Dakota from the third grade through the ninth grade. I graduated from High School in Minden, Nebraska in 1963. I graduated from Kearney State College, as a non-traditional student, in 1991.
I have always worked in the public or private school system. Both systems were not only a teaching experience but a learning experience. For 16 years I worked at being a Sorority House Mom at the University of North Dakota and the University of Wisconsin; it afforded me the opportunity to meet many very smart and very talented young women.
I retired at the age of seventy-eight. At the age of seventy-nine I became involved with the making of the documentary, “Nine Little Indians.” It is a documentary that has been on-going for approximately twenty years.
BRAD THOMPSON
Brad Thompson was born in Kearney, Nebraska in 1966 and graduated from Kearney Senior High School in 1985. Upon graduation Brad entered the U.S. Air Force and served for 30 years before retiring in 2015, Brad then worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs for 10 years. Brad is married to the former Debra Jisa of Lincoln and they have been married for 35 years, they have two adult children Evan and Jaden. Brad’s mother is Yvonne “Pat” Charbonneau who is one of nine sisters featured in the “Nine Little Indians” documentary.
