French and Metis were spoken in my home. I am a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians from Belcourt, North Dakota.

I attended first and second grade in Olga. I attended St. Paul’s Indian Mission School in Marty, South Dakota from the third grade through the ninth grade. I graduated from High School in Minden, Nebraska in 1963. I graduated from Kearney State College, as a non-traditional student, in 1991.

I have always worked in the public or private school system. Both systems were not only a teaching experience but a learning experience. For 16 years I worked at being a Sorority House Mom at the University of North Dakota and the University of Wisconsin; it afforded me the opportunity to meet many very smart and very talented young women.

I retired at the age of seventy-eight. At the age of seventy-nine I became involved with the making of the documentary, “Nine Little Indians.” It is a documentary that has been on-going for approximately twenty years.
