Free Screening: TREMORS
MAR 28, 2025
Giant open mouth of underground monster bearing its teeth at three people standing above ground.

FRIDAY, MARCH 28 – 7:30 P.M.

Join us for a pre-show talk with award-winning producer Gale Anne Hurd followed by a free screening of the 1990 horror comedy TREMORS in celebration of the film’s 35th anniversary. Presented in partnership with the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.

The TREMORS free screening is SOLD OUT and we are no longer taking reservations.
Those that signed up for the wait list will be notified if tickets become available.

TREMORS | Repairmen Val McKee (Kevin Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) are tired of their dull lives in the small desert town of Perfection, Nev. But just as the two try to skip town, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist (Finn Carter) studying unnatural readings below the ground. With the help of an eccentric couple (Reba McEntire, Michael Gross), the group fights for survival against giant, worm-like monsters hungry for human flesh. (1 hour, 36 minutes / PG-13)

“A Conversation with Gale Anne Hurd” will take place during IGNITE from 12:30-1:50 p.m. in the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts at 13th and Q streets. The event is free and open to the public. Hurd will then visit The Ross for a short pre-movie talk and Q&A beginning at 7:30 p.m. followed by the screening of TREMORS.

Hurd is an executive producer of “The Walking Dead” universe, which includes “The Walking Dead: Dead City” and “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” as well as the record-setting miniseries “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.” Her Valhalla Entertainment banner recently concluded the 11th and final season of “The Walking Dead,” as well as the eighth and final season of “Fear the Walking Dead” for AMC. She was also an executive producer on “The Walking Dead: World Beyond” and is a consulting producer on “Talking Dead.”

Gale Anne Hurd’s previous feature credits include “The Terminator” trilogy (she produced and co-wrote “The Terminator”), “Aliens,” “The Abyss,” “Armageddon,” “Tremors,” “Alien Nation,” “The Ghost and the Darkness” and Sundance Audience Award winner “The Waterdance,” among many others. Additional Valhalla TV credits include Amazon Prime Video’s “Lore,” SYFY’s limited series “Hunters” and two seasons of “Falling Water” on the USA Network.

Hurd’s visit is sponsored by the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts and Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.
