10 Things I Hate About You is a sharp, funny, and heartfelt teen rom-com that flips The Taming of the Shrew into a late-90s high school setting. With smart dialogue, iconic performances, and a perfect balance of sarcasm and sincerity, the film explores love, independence, and vulnerability without losing its edge. It’s witty, rewatchable, and emotionally honest, exactly the kind of classic that hits even harder on the big screen.
SYNOPSIS
Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) is beautiful, smart and quite abrasive to most of her fellow teens. Unfortunately for her younger sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), house rules say that she can’t date until Kat has a boyfriend, so strings are pulled to set the dour damsel up for a romance with handsome new arrival Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger).
